New Chevy Blazer Performance

Boasts of performance need support with numbers, and the 2024 Blazer EV delivers. The top-tier SS package delivers 557 horsepower and 648 pound-feet of torque. With Wide Open Watts mode (WOW), the SS package can provide an extra boost for takeoff. Chevrolet also offers less aggressive packages in the LT and RS trims for those who need more of a daily driver. You can get 288 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque with an AWD electric propulsion setup; with an RWD setup, you can get 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque.

As an all-electric ride, the Blazer EV also boasts excellent charging capacity. It employs an 11.5-kW Level 2 AC charger that uses standard DC public stations to grab 78 miles of range in just 10 minutes. The Blazer EV should achieve 96 MPGe in normal driving. The total battery capacity is 150 kWh, and 100-percent charging time should take 9.5 hours at 240 volts. The EPA rates that 100 miles of driving should consume about 35 kWh. Chevy will warrant the vehicle's factory battery for the first eight years or 100,000 miles.

Chevrolet also offers the Blazer EV in front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive configurations. The electric motors attach to the axles, and the all-wheel drive uses two motors.

Futuristic and Sporty Looks for the New Chevy Blazer EV

The new Blazer EV borrows its angular design from its gas-powered cousin. However, it adds futuristic elements that make the already-sporty Blazer look like nothing else on the Simi Valley roads. It features a wide LED band for a headlamp that stretches the entire width of the front. By replacing the air dam and grille, the Blazer EV achieves a more aerodynamic design. In profile, the Blazer EV has more sportback vibes than its gas cousin. Eight exterior body colors are available to help you stand out as you drive around Thousand Oaks. You also can select wheels that are 19, 22, or 22 inches in diameter.

The interior has pure cockpit styling with an emphasis on displays and knobs. Chevy provides a 17.7-inch infotainment display in the middle of the dash. It angles toward the driver and includes tactile knobs and buttons so you can watch the road while adjusting the audio or temperature. There is also an 11-inch digital instrument cluster where the gauges sat on older vehicles.

The stock interior features one of three dark colors. It contrasts with lots of chrome accents. You also can order the Blazer EV SS with red seating and accents. The Blazer EV seats five people. Its rear cargo area is slightly smaller than its gas counterpart but still provides 25.5 cubic feet of space. You can fold the back seats to expand cargo to 59.1 cubic feet.

New Chevy Blazer EV Technology and Safety

Chevy packs the Blazer EV with desirable features. It includes safety systems like blind-zone steering assistance, forward-collision warnings, pedestrian detection, and rear parking assistance. You also can add enhanced automatic emergency braking and an HD surround-view camera.

The infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to keep you connected while traveling to Santa Clarita. Two front USB Type-C ports are near the cupholders. There are also two more on the back of the console for access by the rear passengers.

New Chevy Blazer EV Trim Levels

The LT is the base package, and those who want more luxury features can get the RS. There is also the vaunted SS model that we look forward to trying out in Fillmore.
